![]() ![]() The ride is fairly civil considering it's short wheelbase and pretty quiet considering it's boxy shape (however, the engine sounds rather unsophisticated when called upon to accelerate). On the bright side, I am averaging 34 mpg with a mix of about 30% city and 70% highway, and I am an assertive driver. The Soul is clearly a budget vehicle but at over $21,000 for a base model, I expected better. Voice commands are sluggish and overall the system can be glitchy and frustrating. Often times it has difficulty linking with my phone or it hijacks my phone and I can't use it for a period of time. ![]() Another disappointment was the blue tooth/infotainment center. The black plastic trim on the exterior is already starting to fade too. A major complaint is the low quality paint, it almost immediately suffered from swirls, scratches, and a general dullness … (avoid the Inferno Red). I own the 2022 LX model with the tech package (a $900 must have as it includes not only some nice rims but a bevy of safety features). It seems like all of the professional reviews (and most consumer reviews) describe the Soul as an automotive saint, well it ain't.
