Players may sign up for a maximum of 2 divisions at this tournament. For doubles divisions, one team member will register for the division and pay the fee, and the other team member will need to register in the doubles partners section for the appropriate day to fill out their information and sign the waiver. For singles divisions, each person playing must register for their division. Refunds will only be issued if we can fill the space. Registration closes March 4 th or when the division is full. Divisions are limited to 16 players/teams. Registration Information Everyone playing in the tournament must register. Youth 14 and older may sign up for the youth or open division, but not both. If only one bracket is used in a division, the player/team with the most winning record will be the champion. Players/teams will be split into brackets in their division (if entries warrant) and the top two teams from each bracket will play for the championships. Each division will allow a maximum of 16 players/teams. Please Note: This year’s badminton tournament will be played as a round robin tournament with 1 game per match and each game being to 31 points. People should still continue to practice risk reduction measures including good hand hygiene, social distancing and staying home when sick. As of 2/19/22 the indoor mask mandate will be lifted, meaning masks are optional for people who are vaccinated. We will be following all City of Newton guidelines in regards to COVID-19.
